World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25 September every year to promote awareness about the importance and role of a pharmacist. On this day, the main aim is to showcase pharmacists and their positive effects on health.

World Pharmacist Day was created by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Council at the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009. World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25 September because on this date FIP came into existence in 1912. The main aim of this day is to encourage the role and activities of the pharmacist in improving health.

This year’s theme is “Transforming global health“. We aim to show how pharmacists contribute to a world where everyone benefits from access to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and health technologies, as well as from pharmaceutical care services,” said FIP President Dominique Jordan
